Bodhisattva Celebration

December 12, 2020, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Please join us for a time of sharing as we reflect on what it means to follow the bodhisattva path. This year we will join together via Zoom on Saturday, December 12, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM as we continue to care for each other by observing social distancing and avoiding indoor gatherings.

This event aims to enrich the relationships between both younger and older community members at KCC. For those of you who are new to this event, the theme of the evening is all about bodhisattvas, in our own tradition as well as others, and is often done in imaginative and creative ways. A bodhisattva is someone whose thoughts, words, and actions are filled with compassion (the wish to alleviate the suffering of others) and loving-kindness (the wish that all beings experience happiness). By our own small acts of kindness — toward every single being — we emulate the bodhisattvas.

Please join with the sangha, as well as family and friends as we share stories, music, or any other presentation that illustrates this. I want to encourage people of all ages to participate, including having your children tell a story on their own or help tell a story with someone. These can be prepared ahead of time or can be spontaneous.

Please let Mary know if you plan to share a story, especially if you have a video or something that may require technical support.
