Tim Campbell has been a student of the Dharma for over 30 years. He has been a sangha member at KCC since 2009 and served as a member of the Board and from 2013-2019 as Board President. Ash first developed an interest in Buddhism in middle school from reading Bruce Newman’s Tibetan Buddhism for Beginners. They rekindled that interest after moving to Portland in 2013 and found KCC in 2019 while seeking out a dharma center and sangha in order to develop a formal practice. In the past year, Ash has been eating up every practice, retreat, and community opportunity available through the magic of Zoom. Ash is an artist and jamband enthusiast, making psychedelic poster art and interactive media that incorporates both music and dharma themes. They are very excited about the opportunity to work with the Program Council.
Ryan was drawn to Buddhism and meditation on first exposure in college but only began developing a stable meditation practice years later during travels and meditation retreats in Asia. He began volunteering at KCC after arriving in Portland in 2013, and he coordinated KCC retreats, events and communications from 2014 until he moved to Madison, Wisconsin in 2017. Ryan managed operations at Tergar Madison for over two years and now works at a reputable biotech company. He has continued to assist with KCC media and retreats where possible and is excited to offer service on the Board and Program Council.
