New KCC Code of Conduct
A Code of Conduct for the KCC Community was approved by the Board of Directors at the August board meeting. It is now posted on the KCC website. The Code of Conduct – developed from multiple rounds of input from employees, volunteers, and Sangha members – sets forth ethical guidelines for all who represent KCC or participate in activities at KCC.
With Buddhist ethics informing most of the community code of conduct, Lama Eric wrote about Buddhist Ethics:
“Ethics is a cornerstone of all traditions of Buddhism.
It is the first of the Three Trainings
—ethics, meditation, and insight or wisdom—
which encapsulate the entirety of the Buddhist path.”
The board appreciates the large number of people who provided helpful input by email and in the last sangha meeting to improve the document. We hope these guidelines foster a welcoming and supportive community as we connect through email, virtually, and in-person.
For the Dharma,
The KCC Board of Directors
